The emergence of a new generation of high-powered AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT, has fueled fears of artificial intelligence systems running wild and outnumbering humans.
More than 1,000 researchers and technologists, including Elon Musk, signed a letter earlier this year calling for a six-month freeze on AI development because it “poses a huge risk to society and humanity.”
