Beyonce stopped off her Renaissance tour in Paris on Friday to pay tribute to Tina Turner, who she cites as her biggest influence following the singer’s death earlier this week.
“I want to take a second and honor Tina Turner,” Beyoncé said He addressed the crowd at the Stade de France.. “If you’re a fan of mine, you’re a fan of Tina Turner. I wouldn’t be on this stage without Tina Turner, so I just want you guys to shout, so she can feel your love. I feel so blessed to have been allowed to see her shine.”
Beyoncé was inspired by Turner’s art and authenticity. Beyonce in 2010 As she said in 2005 when she honored Turner at the Kennedy Center Honors, “Every now and then, when I think about inspiration, I think of the two Tina’s in my life – my mother, Tina, and of course the amazing Tina Turner.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, stood by her mother’s side on stage in Paris in a metallic jumpsuit that matched a troupe of dancers. The 11-year-old served up a few moves of her own during Beyonce’s performance of “My Power,” but the crowd reacted with disdain.
Blue previously performed “Crazy in Love” with her mom in Dubai, and she nailed the choreography again…and the unforgettable moment when Blue joined her mother on stage for her first pregnancy performance at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.
The Paris show also welcomed a list of concert-goers including Selena Gomez, Lenny Kravitz, Meghan T Stallion and Pharrell Williams. Beyoncé’s next show will take place in London, England from May 29 to June 4.
