Blackpink announces SF show at Coachella performance

On Tuesday, August 22nd, BLACKPINK is scheduled to make a “Born Pink” visit to Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. It will be the band’s first time playing in the Bay Area. Also scheduled for Aug. 26 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

The “Born Rose” tour was in support of the band’s album of the same name, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the first time by an all-Korean group. Blackpink is one of the eight. Female groups are at the top of this list.

On Saturday, April 15, BLACKPINK became the first Korean band to headline Coachella, with a mesmerizing, high-tech, flawless performance.

“The four members of BLACKPINK — Jennie Kim, Jisoo, Lisa, Rose — were larger than life, exuding endless pop star charisma and without a doubt deserved top billing,” wrote SFGATE Culture Editor Dan Gentile.

In the year Formed in 2016, Blackpink has enjoyed a meteoric rise to become one of the biggest music acts in the world in just over six years. The band’s avid fan base (known as Blink) adores Blackpink with a passion that borders on imagination. The four members of the group combine to have over 311 million followers on Instagram alone.

Flashers have been known to use their power for good, including subverting white supremacy on social media.

Blackpink isn’t the only Coachella performer heading north following the festival. Boygenius and Blink-182 are also scheduled to make Bay Area stops this summer.

Tickets for Blackpink San Francisco go on sale Wednesday, April 26, at 10 a.m.
