LOS ANGELES (AP) – Singer and songwriter Aaron Carter He died of sudden drowning in the bathtub due to the sedatives he took and the gas he inhaled, Corona reported Tuesday.

Carter is the younger brother of Backstreet Boys’ Nick CarterThe 34-year-old was found dead after falling into the bathtub of his Lancaster, Calif., home on Nov. 5, according to an autopsy report by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner.

They were the last people to see him alive when sheriff’s deputies visited his home at 2 a.m. Nov. 4 after seeing and hearing him gasp on Instagram Live video, according to a police report. Included in the autopsy findings. He asked the agents to leave and they did.

An autopsy revealed that alprazolam, a sedative commonly sold under the brand name Xanax, was found in his system, as was the compressed gas difluoroethane. When inhaled, it can create a euphoric sensation.

The two substances rendered him impotent in the pool, causing him to drown, the report said.

Later that evening, after deputies checked on Carter, he missed an appointment with a drug counselor, according to a police report.

The next day, a man whom authorities called a housekeeper but the report referred to in quotes as a “housekeeper” came to Carter’s house to give him coffee. When she got no response, she let herself go and heard the dogs barking, the report said.

The woman, wearing a T-shirt and necklace and running around in a jacuzzi-style pool, called 911 and the operator told her to pull her out and perform CPR, according to the report. Paramedics pronounced him dead on arrival.

Investigators found several prescription bottles and several scattered cans of the electronic dust he used to inhale.

The report described Carter as “a well-known person with a known drug history who had numerous dealings with local police related to drug abuse.” He mentioned a different history of asthma and a recent relapse.

Carter began performing as a child in the 1990s, opening for acts including his nephew’s band and Britney Spears. His career peaked in 2000 with the triple-platinum album “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It),” the title song of which produced hit singles, including “I Want Candy.”

He also acted in television shows including “Lizzie McGuire” and appeared on the family reality shows “House of Carters” and “Dancing with the Stars.”

Carter He has been open about his struggles with substance abuse for years, detailing his breathing problems in a 2019 episode of the “Doctors” talk show. He was also taking medication for high anxiety and bipolar disorder at the time of the interview.

Nick Carter said. After his younger brother’s death, he said, “I always hope that somehow one day he’ll be able to walk a healthy path and finally get the help he so desperately needs.”
