Heather Gaye eventually revealed that she was so drunk that she didn’t remember how she got her black eye.

“I blacked out,” the 40-year-old reality star said during episode 1 of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” on Wednesday. “I don’t know how it happened.”

It comes weeks after her gay fans and viewers speculated dozens of theories about how BraveBritty got serious during a cast trip to San Diego.

“I woke up very shocked. I was denied my phone, I was in my pajamas,” Gay explained, adding that she was “terrified” that they would see it as an opportunity to “rewrite the narrative” if they found out she didn’t remember.

At the time of the incident, Gay contradicted herself by saying that she both did and didn’t remember – much to the confusion of her colleagues and fans.

“I wish they would have said this now that it’s causing this much damage,” co-star Lisa Barlow gushed, adding that an “investigation is underway” to find out how Gaye was injured.

Host Andy Cohen clarified that Bravo had investigated, but they found nothing, and there was no further footage.

“When Product came into my room, I said, ‘I have no idea, I have no memory,'” Gay said. “And then it got out of control, and I take full responsibility, and I’m really sorry. It’s terrifying.”

The author of “Bad Mormons” became emotional and began to cry as she described the “humiliating” and “terrible” thought of blacking out and waking up with a black eye and feeling “Mormon humiliation.”

“I know I’m dark. “I woke up in a very, very high state of stress, very embarrassed and humiliated,” Gay said.

“There was no way to hide it, and I went to my thing, which is just a joke and I let it go, and I didn’t destroy it, but I certainly don’t want to impress anybody here on the production – it is. My own guilt and shame and inability to explain.

Gaye also addressed a fan theory that he “punched” Jane Shah after she drank too much, citing the pair’s questionable conversation the morning after the incident.

Gay added that she was “covering up” for Shah, but that she “couldn’t address” the notions that Shah was hurt by her disappearance.

“I believe more than anything else that she came up with a cover story,” Gay said the next day of why she contacted Shah, 49.

“If I knew Jane had done that I would have covered it up, but that wasn’t my intention – I was called.”

The mother-of-three revealed that the last thing she remembers from the Marilyn Monroe-themed night was going to her room with Shah “joking about her breasts” and taking off her hair wig.

“I don’t remember anything that I saw unfold on the tape,” she said as she watched the footage of Gay Shah, Meredith Marks and Angie Katsaneva entering her room just before 5 a.m.

Gay explains that she hoped to hear or see something that would jog her memory, but unfortunately, she’s still in the dark as she finds a black eye.

“Something could have happened, and while I was on camera and filming, I thought someone would give me a trigger to help me remember, and I still don’t know how I got it,” the Beauty Lab and Laser founder continued.

Cohen then turned to her other partners and asked for their thoughts on what had happened.

Gay’s cousin and former best friend Whitney Rose – who has previously denied being the source of the injuries – thinks Gay had an “accident” when she was drunk, or Shah said he “hit her”.

Katsaneva, 48, agreed, and Shah “kept quiet to herself,” saying the next day that she had “a very dark feeling that there was something they knew they weren’t going to share with the rest of the team.”

Meanwhile, Mark, 51, said Gay told her she quit because she “didn’t think there was anyone who could drink like that.”

Episode 2 of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” premieres February 1 at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
