Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – Jay Leno is recovering from broken bones sustained in a motorcycle accident two months after being injured in a Los Angeles garage fire.

The comedian told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the fire, which left him with severe burns to his upper body and part of his face, was just the first accident.

“This was the first accident. yes i can? Then just last week, I got knocked off my motorcycle,” Leno told the Las Vegas Review-Journal Thursday. “So the collarbone was broken. Two ribs were broken. I have two cracked kneecaps.

According to the Review-Journal, the motorcycle accident happened on Jan. 17, and Leno had been riding bikes since the 1940s. He said he got off his bike with a wire attached to the parking lot.

“So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. He just dressed me, boom, knocked me off the bike,” Leno told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “The bike just kept going, and you know how that works.”

Leno said he did not publicize the accident because of the coverage of the fire last November.

“You know, you get that for free after it burns,” Leno told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “After all, you’re Harrison Ford crashing planes. You just want to keep your head down (laughs).

Despite the burns and broken bones, Leno is preparing to return to the Las Vegas strip in March.
