Kim Kardashian admits parenthood is one of the “most challenging” yet “rewarding” experiences of her life.

“There are nights where I cry myself to sleep. Like, holy s–t, this f–king tornado in my house. Just what happened?,” the 42-year-old reality star said on People on the upcoming “Jay Shetty On Purpose” podcast.

Kardashian – who shares daughters North, 9, and Chicago, 5, as well as sons Saint, 7, and Song, 4, with ex-husband Kanye West – has called the joys of parenthood “absolutely crazy” at times.

Even with all this chaos, she emphasizes, it’s still “the best chaos.”

“Everybody says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn’t be a truer statement,” the “Kardshians” star said.

“It’s the most rewarding job in the world. It is. Nothing can prepare you. I don’t care how long you wait. I don’t care what you’re waiting for. You’re never ready.”

However, the single mum – whose last known relationship with Pete Davidson ended in August 2022 – told Shetty, 35, that knowing how to get through the day and deal with the daily challenges of parenthood “makes you proud of yourself”.

Speaking about the chaos in her own home life, Kardashian also said she sometimes stays up late “hour after hour” to “see if we’re going to survive.”

“When anger comes in, oh my god, your life is completely turned upside down,” said Kardashian, who recently threw a 4th birthday party for her youngest, Song.

She also listed some “crazy” moments as a parent during the Covid-19 quarantine, adding, “I mean, as a mom, there are nights where you don’t wash your hair for days and you spit up all over and wear the same pajamas, especially in Covid.”

The reality star added that despite the frenzy, parents teach “more about yourself” than anyone could ever expect.

In December 2022, Kardashian revealed that she tried to protect her children from the headlines of their father, who has been under fire for his controversial behavior and anti-Semitic comments, calling her co-parenting with West – a “very good king”.

“I had the best father, and I had the best memories and the best experiences, and that’s what I want for my kids as long as they can,” Kardashian said of her late father, Robert Kardashian.

“That’s what I want for them,” she added. “If they don’t know what’s being said or what’s going on in the world, why should I bring that energy to them? That is very difficult – they are not ready to deal with it.
