The commercial building bought by Rain and Kim Tae Hee is said to be still empty and without a buyer.

On community forums, netizens are discussing media reports about the two celebrity couple’s expensive building not bringing in any tenants or buyers. The couple married in 2010. They bought the building for 92 billion KRW in June 2021, then put it back on the market for sale a year later. According to official reports, they asked for 140 billion KRW for the building.

Although Rain and Kim Tae Hee have denied ever putting the building on the market, further reports claim that buyers have withdrawn their offers when they did not show up.

Real estate experts point out that while the building is one of the prime locations in Gangnam, the price tag of 140 billion KRW is not a realistic cost for average buyers.

The building is currently vacant with no tenants on the 1st and 2nd floors.

According to the netizen, the amount of expenses the two are paying and the monthly loan payment should be around 200 million KRW per month.

In the past, both Rain and Kim Tae Hee have bought and sold several buildings on their own, often reselling the property a few years after they were first purchased.

Net responses include:

“I can’t believe they decided to sell after a year…lol their intentions are very visible.”

“I don’t like it.”
“Now when I think of just these two, the image of real estate comes to mind. Nothing more.”
“Is that why she’s suddenly acting? Starring in a new role? She has to pay off those loans.”
“A lot of greed…”
“Haha”
“Well no wonder dear, it’s literally a walk from Gangnam Station.”
“I think the maintenance bill is going to be huge.”
“140 billion?!”
“It felt strange to see him back on the screen again…”
“Lower your price.”
