Limp Bizkit Singer Fred Durst. He’s a fun guy, and by fun, I mean he’s “that guy”: someone who speaks or works for head-scratchers at the height of their career, overshadowing any musical or artistic shade (see Woodstock ’99) of their decades-long output.

Going for nü-metal this year, I’m enjoying a bit of a retro renaissance Limp Bizkit– and as a result, Fred Durst.– They are in focus again. But it can. Fred They’ve committed another Platonic-shifting scandal—arguably a big one, if not a big one—with “Let’s Despise Jokes.” Limp BizkitA fan base?

In a situation where perception can be everything, a little confused Durst He told the entertainer. Bill Maher In an interview during his Club random Podcast “People call [Limp Bizkit] ‘Jock Rock’… I mean, I hate jokes, ’cause those guys were always kicking my ass.

Let’s pause the bus and add some color to the context. Durst He is talking about his own life and experiences. And if we want to enter a platonic shift in decades Nothing could have been more unexpected than the complete demise of the holy trinity of jock-metalhead-punk that ruled the 1990s in the late ’70s and ’80s. So I’m sure Durst He speaks candidly when he talks about taking more than a few hits while still climbing.

But in the ’90s, suddenly heavy music—typically imported music and the fake sound on wax—was for everyone. This was partly thanks to grunge bands kicking down many doors for other bands to break down – Panther, Rage against the machine, corn, DeftonesAnd yes Limp BizkitThey are all prime examples.

Archive He touched upon this incident as he spoke. Durst Populism is the key to the rise of nu-metal. “Around that turn of the century there was emotion and there was anger,” he said. Archive. “That was like, you know, ‘I’m going to get mad and I’m going to break shit.’

To his glory, Durst– He seems to want to control the narrative – he said Archive Clearly, “I’ve been bullied my whole life. I’ve been bullied, I’ve been bullied… in my town, at school, and the vehicle I ended up with was this kid.” Limp Bizkit ‘Oh man, I’m going to use this microphone to answer these guys!’ But the irony is that the bullies who tortured me were in the audience dressed as me. So this huge art project turned into something really funny…and here I am 25 years later going, ‘Wow, this is incredible!’

Although I can’t relate, I understand what it is. Durst He’s explaining, he’s basically trying not to look a gift horse in the mouth, after the same horse has been kicked in the balls every day since birth. That “funny thing.” Durst and Co. What has happened now is that they are intertwined in such a persuasive argument about fame, and at the same time they are historical and powerful. Because, after, what he did Durst It’s famous minutes after fans literally broke Woodstock 99 and promoters pulled the plug. Limp Bizkit?

We did nothing wrong.
