The hospital where MF Dom died has reportedly apologized for the rapper’s lack of standards.

The Chief Medical Officer of St. James Hospital apologized to the family of MF Doom

Thursday (July 6) British daily newspaper The guard A representative of the hospital where MF Dom died has reportedly issued a statement following the investigation into the rapper’s death by his widow, Jasmine Thompson.

“I would like to express our sincere condolences. [MF Doom’s] Family, friends and fans at this difficult time. I apologize [sic] The chief medical officer at St James’s Hospital told the publication that the care he received was not up to our expectations.

“Following his tragic death we have carried out a serious emergency investigation and the report has been passed on to Daniel’s family,” the statement continued. “As a result, we have put in place a number of actions and a broad lesson from what happened will be used as a teaching topic in a number of different clinical specialties. [sic]. We support the Coroner’s view that we have clear national guidance and understanding in this area.

Death of MF Doom

Beloved MFMF Dom passed away at the age of 49 on October 31, 2020 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. However, his death was not made public until December and the rapper’s cause of death was speculated. MF Doom’s widow Jasmine spoke to local news outlet Leads Live on Tuesday (July 4), finally revealing the rapper’s cause of death and raising questions about the care he received while in hospital.

The article says that MF Dom died of a rare and severe reaction to blood pressure medication that caused swelling of the throat and tongue, a condition known as angioedema. Jasmin Dumill said Dom, born Daniel Thompson, was admitted to St James’s Hospital in an inadequate hospital room and was unable to alert staff of his deteriorating condition because his screams could not be reached. She also said that there was a two-hour delay in getting medicine for the disease.

The hospital has conducted an investigation to see what, if any, mistakes were made following MF Dom’s death. The investigation made several recommendations.
