Taylor Swift is dropping major clues as to what led to her split from Joe Alwyn, revealing that the English actor doesn’t want to marry her.
On Friday, the Grammy winner released a new vault track, “You’re Losing Me,” which will be available only on select physical copies of her “Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition)” album.
While she has yet to confirm that the song is about Alwyn, the pair went their separate ways last month after more than six years of dating – and Swift is famous for singing about her relationships.
“You say I don’t understand, and I know you don’t,” said Genius. “We thought a cure would come in time. I’m afraid it won’t happen now.”
In the pre-chorus, Swift asks, “Should I throw away everything we’ve built or keep it?” he thinks. Before entering, he said, “I’m getting tired even for Phoenix. Always rise from the ashes.”
“Stop it, you’re losing me,” she repeats several times in the chorus, “My heart won’t start for you anymore.”
The singer goes on to say that she “sent you signs,” but the subject of her lyrics refuses to see them. “Her face was gray” but she “refused to be sick.”
“How can you say I’m in love with someone you can’t say is a witch?” she asks. “How long will we be a sad song until we’re too far gone to come back to life?”
Swift’s powerful bridge, which she says gives her “endless compassion,” says in the intro, “I’m not married either.” Pathological people pleaser. Who just wanted you to see her?”
Although neither Swift, 32, nor Alwyn have officially announced their split, a source told Us in April that the relationship was “not amazing,” and that the relationship simply “ran its course.”

However, Swift, 33, made headlines earlier this month for her “burgeoning romance” with 1975 frontman Matty Healy, and Alwyn is reported to have moved on, saying she was “feeling a bit stressed”.
He was said to have been bothered by Swift’s “disloyalty” when she told her that she and Hailey, 34 – who he worked on for her October 2022 album ‘Midnights’ – were ‘friends’.
Meanwhile, Swift is on cloud nine.
“I’ve never been so happy in my life, in all aspects of my life – I’m glad to tell you – I don’t know,” he said at a recent show on the Eras Tour.
“And I want to thank you for being a part of that,” she continued. “It’s not just the tour. I finally feel like my life has meaning. “
In the past few weeks, Healy — who is English — has been snapped attending the singer’s concerts (Rocket was photographed sitting with her dad), hanging out with her after hours, leaving her recording studio, sneaking into her apartment and even kissing her in public.
Alwyn, meanwhile, is said to be “busy and doing his best to focus on himself.”
Earlier this week, the exes attended their first public event since calling it quits.
