“Among those in the magazine is Superman. In the early stages, our story will focus on an early part of Superman’s life, so the character won’t be played by Henry Cavill. But we’ve had a good relationship with Henry and we’re big fans, and we’ve discussed many exciting opportunities to work together in the future.”

After all, I’m not coming back as Superman,” Cavill wrote on Instagram following the news. “After being told by the studio that I would announce my return in October, before I was hired, this is not the easiest news, but that’s life. I respect that James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and everyone involved with the new universe the best of luck and a very happy future.

“Witcher” fans were not thrilled when Cavill announced his exit and the series confirmed that Liam Hemsworth would be taking over the role. In an interview with DifferenceNetflix’s head of US and Canadian scripted series Peter Friedlander confirmed to fans that Hemsworth was the right choice.

“Henry is an extraordinary Geralt and I think Liam will continue to be an extraordinary Geralt,” Friedlander said. It was a legacy of the wonderful, iconic characters the cast transformed into and we have high hopes for it. We will continue to respect the IP, the fans, the stories, forever.
