LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Old National Bank will move its downtown Louisville office from Preston Pointe to 400 West Market Street as it moves forward from a mass shooting that left six employees dead last month.

In a news release Tuesday, the company said its commercial banking, wealth and treasury management teams will relocate immediately, with a tentative target of a June 26 opening.

400 West Market Street is the current designation for the building at 4th and Market streets, once called the Aegon Center.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss and will continue to support and care for those affected by the tragic events of April 10,” Old National Bank CEO Jim Ryan said in a news release Tuesday. “We have decided to move to a new downtown location in honor of the lost and injured members of the old national team.”

Old National Bank will move its new banking center to the first floor of the building, space previously occupied by Stockyard Bank & Trust. Members of the commercial banking, wealth and treasury management team will temporarily move to the space on the 24th floor, while the permanent space — 12,000 square feet on the 25th floor — will be renovated.

“On behalf of our entire Louisville team, I want to share with you how excited and grateful we are for this opportunity to continue to serve and be an active participant in the vibrant downtown Louisville community,” said Old National Louisville Market President Dennis Heishman. In a news release on Tuesday. “I also want to say a huge thank you for the love and care we receive from our friends in the community. Your kindness and support means the world to us.”
