Mark Wahlberg may be known for his insane transformations in his movie roles, but there is one person, even the $400 million rich fitness icon admires despite a supposed beef. Being a huge fan of the Irish MMA artist, Conor McGregor, the Pain & Gain actor previously expressed his desire to have the UFC legend (set to make his Hollywood debut) as a co-star in his upcoming movie.

In an appearance on the  Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast, Mark Wahlberg expressed his admiration for UFC legend, Conor McGregor, who is set to make his movie debut with an Amazon Prime movie that is labeled as a “re-imagination” of the 80s action classic, Road House.

The words came despite a supposed beef between Marky Mark and McGregor after the actor “bought the UFC to McGregor’s annoyance.” Back then, the UFC legend dissed the actor, saying,

“I’ve decided to challenge Hollywood “actress” Mark Walhberg next. A fight for all the shares.”

The $400 million rich fitness icon famously said: “In the right movie, absolutely! “I gotta get Conor to be in a movie!” Conor McGregor, who became the first UFC fighter to hold UFC championships in two weight classes simultaneously, is set to prove his worth in Hollywood with the Doug Liman-directed action remake later this year.

Conor McGregor Doesn’t Plan On Hanging Around In Hollywood

Conor McGregor fans need not be disappointed as the Irish MMA artist doesn’t plan on hanging around in Hollywood, unlike other former wrestlers like John Cena and Dwayne Johnson. In a recent interview, the UFC legend expressed that even though he had great fun filming the upcoming, Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, he doesn’t plan on sticking around.

While not much is known about his character in the upcoming action remake of the 1989 classic, Gyllenhall is set to portray Ealwood Dalton (originally played by Patrick Swayze). McGregor, on the other hand, revealed: “Fighting. I really want to get back to fighting now.”

The champion wants to get back into the Octagon and resume his career as a professional fighter! As McGregor challenged Mark Wahlberg in 2019 to a fight “just days after announcing his retirement from MMA”, also calling him an “actress” in the process, it would take a lot of convincing to get the athlete into a movie!

Amazon Studios is yet to release an official release date for Road House.
