Perkins says music is medicine, focused on healing and integration.

“As a musician and a social influencer in music, music is medicine, I’m very proud to come from America’s place of music, place of culture, place of our lives,” Perkins said. But they really are the people I always come back to. The people of Mississippi are welcoming, kind, supportive, they love the support, advice I get from people in our great state.”

Miss Mississippi wins a $10,000 scholarship. She competed in the Miss America Talent Preliminary Tuesday night singing “Get Up.” The new Miss America will be crowned Thursday night.
