An agriculturist in northwest Missouri said farmers are starting to wear corn.

Erin Marlowe with CropWise Consulting says corn looks good when more nitrogen is added to brownfields during the key growth phase.

It has that deep, dark green color that everyone loves. It looks great and the rain should keep up.

Marlow says farmers are being extra careful with fertilizer applications this year. Some farmers, she says, have taken a different approach when starting to plant, applying nitrogen to the crop instead of the traditional broadcast application.
