Is it too early for the 2024 mock draft? of course!

This is basically a watch list of 32 incredible prospects eligible for the 2024 NFL Draft. It occurs only in the comic draft format. And if you don’t like the draft order, blame Vegas, because I used the reverse order of the updated Super Bowl odds.

Despite the financial issues with Kyler Murray’s contract, the Cardinals won’t pass on the quarterback if they pick No. 1 next April. Based on his 2022 tape, Williams deserves the top pick — NFL scouts believe he would have been the No. 1 pick in this past draft had he been eligible.

Feldman: NFL teams might want to guard Caleb Williams from what I’m hearing.

Not only would Harrison be an easy WR1 in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he would be the first non-quarterback overall pick, competing with Will Anderson Jr. He has the athleticism of a small man in a big man’s frame and the detailed mastery you’d expect from the son of Marvin Harrison.

When Fashanu announced he was returning to school for another season, my overall prospect for the 2023 draft was OT1 and No. 5. His movement skills, natural energy and instincts are an amazing combination.

With 45 total touchdowns last season, Maye not only catapulted himself onto the NFL radar, but near the top of the list. With his size, arm and athleticism, he has the ability to rival Justin Herbert.

No. 15 was impossible to ignore when scouting Anderson or other Alabama defenders flying off the rim and making plays. Throw on some Texas A&M tape from last season and watch Turner go to work.

Just a redshirt sophomore (he also skipped his senior year), Ewers is still very young in several areas. But WoW has a high shelf ability to make plays look normal. If his mental development meets his physical skills, Ewers will be an easy top-10 pick.

Bowers is among the one percent who were physically prepared for the NFL after their freshman season. He’s undersized for his position, but his athleticism — especially with the ball in his hands — is outstanding.

2023 NFL Draft class rankings: Which teams performed best and worst?

A projected first-round pick entering the 2023 NFL Draft, Number enjoyed his first year in Tallahassee and decided to stay for another season. His game speed and NFL quality hand usage make it difficult for blockers to handle him.

9. Los Angeles Rams: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama

A tall, long corner who can run, McKinstry not only has an interesting first name, but also a solid game on tape in 2022. He is tied with Emmanuel Forbes — the No. 16 pick by Washington — for the SEC lead in pass defenses (16) last season.

LSU had high hopes for Smith until he suffered a knee injury in the season opener last season. If Smith returns to full health this season, he’ll earn his first round trip.

Hit the Authors’ Favorite NFL Draft Picks: One noteworthy player from each of the 32 teams

One of the top recruits in the country three years ago, Tuimolow lived up to the buzz last season (see Penn State tape). He has impressive physical abilities, and scouts are eager to see his technical development as a junior.

Ohio State drafted three offensive linemen last weekend, but Jackson will return to Columbus in All-America capacity. He has the potential to become a first-round pick who has turned his flashes into more consistent high-level play.

As the Storm’s starting right tackle, Latham consistently shut down pass protection last season — not allowing a sack in his first year as a starter. When upgraded as a run blocker, he gets baseline ratings from scouts.

Mahogany is another player coming back from a knee injury, so scouts are excited to see him back on the field in 2023. When I scouted Zion Johnson two years ago, he appeared on tape and will try to follow in his former teammate’s footsteps. As potential first round.

A fourth quarterback is drafted in this mock, and there’s no need to shy away from seeing the talent with McCarthy. He’s a loose athlete with NFL-level arm strength and a willingness to make plays.

As teams moved away from Joey Porter Jr. last season, King saw plenty of action and was one of three FBS players to defend 20-plus passes. Penn State still hasn’t drafted a defensive back in the first round, but King could change that.

The Maryland transfer established Robinson as one of the Big Ten’s more promising pass rushers last season. He needs to turn his flashes into a consistent game. Watch him against Michigan State or Auburn, though, and you can see the exciting potential.

2023 NFL Draft winners and losers: Eagles, Seahawks getting stronger Cowboys are drawn

At 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, Newton is a fast-moving offensive tackle with an athletic twitch and a relentless style of play. If he can improve on his quickness, he should be even more effective as a fourth-year player in 2023.

I’ve heard Nabers’ name painted many times by 2023 draft prospects as a big-time receiver coming out of the SEC. He reached 1,000 yards last season and played his best ball in the final games.

In Alt and Blake Fisher, Notre Dame has two offensive tackles to keep on the radar for next year’s draft class. Alt is a former high school tight end, and his father, John, was an offensive lineman and first-round pick of the Chiefs in 1984.

Iowa had a pretty good showing in the 2023 NFL Draft, and the cupboard isn’t empty. DeJean is an explosive athlete (see his high school highlights) and led the Hawkeyes with five interceptions last season.

Cooper Dejan, Small Town Success Story, Rise to Iowa

I gave Jenkins a second round pick based on the 2022 tape. If he takes the next step in his development in 2023, the first round may be in the region. Plays against the run and is quick off the ball as a pass rusher.

Pennix was very up and down during his time in Indiana (2018-21), but he looks like a new player after moving to Washington. His 2022 tape and production (35 total touches) will have you on the edge of your seat. If he can build on last year and stay healthy, Penix has a chance to continue his rise into first-round territory, especially considering the firepower the Huskies have returning on offense.

Developing chemistry with Ewers, Sanders established himself as a legitimate prospect by finishing with a school single-season sack record with 54 tackles. His athletic attributes have scouts’ attention.

Injuries were an issue for him last season, but when he was on the field, he lived in the backfield. I expect Hall’s speed and speed testing numbers to be impressive throughout the draft.

Making sense of the Lions’ wild NFL draft: It’s all about the picks and the mentality that he just won

I’m sure his dad (former Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter) is going to be sore when he sees his son with a star on his helmet. But if the younger Trotter makes it to the first round, it will be a proud-parent moment.

Barton may not have The Graduate’s length, but he moves well and consistently does his job on film. He could be the 2024 version of Peter Skoronski.

Ohio State had a pair of first-round receivers (Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave) two years ago and could do it again next April. Harrison is a lock, and Egbuka has the athleticism and special ability that will appeal to pro teams.

The first round may be too good for Morgan, coming off a season-ending injury, but he’s a balanced athlete with a promising tool. Arizona hasn’t drafted an offensive lineman in the 1st round since Trung Canidate in 2000.

Given the injury background, late treatments can be a problem when it comes to the draft. But on the field, he’s adept at using his hands and body to beat defenders.

A former Oregon transfer, James was something of a surprise last season. He has done a good job of limiting big plays and will enter this season with a pre-round projection.

The best undrafted 2023 NFL prospects: Andre Carter II, Tyson Bagent and more.

Nubin would have been a Day 2 pick if he had declared for the 2023 draft, but chose to return to Minnesota for his senior year. He has NFL starting talent with his athleticism and occasional ball skills.
