AthleticsQuick analysis:

The main match of Amazon countries

The NFL Black Friday game has a built-in cache because it’s a new media franchise for the league. So there will always be curiosity seekers – especially on a day off from work for many people. But the NFL actually took care of its big-money partner — at least on paper — by giving the Amazon Jets the Dolphins.

Rodgers is on the short list of the most popular players in the league – he’s also polarizing and that’s always been a spectator draw. The Dolphins are expected to be playoff contenders. So you have two significant media markets and two teams with playoff potential that make real sense in divisional play. There is no historical viewership comparable to the 3:00 pm ET Friday launch, but I think Amazon will do very well here. Don’t be surprised if the viewer is a wow number. – Deich

No wonder the jets on Black Friday

It’s no surprise that the Jets are appearing in one of the NFL’s new holiday games — but that’s what happens when Rodgers is your quarterback. Come this game, the Jets and Dolphins should be clinching the AFC East title.

It was around this time last year that the Jets began their downfall that took them out of the playoffs and they will be hoping that doesn’t happen again. As an added wrinkle: MetLife Stadium is located next to the mall, which should be packed on Black Friday. Prepare accordingly. – Rosenblatt

Class competition on Christmas

If we don’t match the Giants against the Jets in one of the festivities this offseason, a matchup with the Eagles is the next best thing. While the Eagles won all three meetings this past season — including a loss in the divisional round — the matchups were expected rivalry games.

The NFL is giving two major markets and fans an acre. Now, it’s up to the Giants to pick up their first win of the series in the Brian Daboll era. – Carol

Giants-Eagles could be decisive.

When the Giants visit, you can count on a Philadelphia crowd in the Christmas spirit. This rivalry has been tilted in Philadelphia’s direction in recent seasons; The Eagles have won 16 of their last 20 games, and the Giants haven’t won at Lincoln Financial Field since 2013.

As the reigning NFC champions and one of the favorites to play in the Super Bowl again, the Eagles will be disappointed if they don’t post a winning record this season. Fans will be hoping the season has one thing in common as the Eagles host a game for the last time: beating the Raiders on a cold night in 2017 en route to their only Lombardi Trophy. – Berman

Back story

The addition of the Black Friday game comes after the NFL and Prime Video partnered to make Amazon the new home of “Thursday Night Football” through the 2022 season. Under their agreement, Prime Video will carry 15 “TNF” games through the 2032 season.

In Week 9, he announced the schedule for the International Games, which included a meeting of the Chiefs and Dolphins in Germany at the Frankfurt Stadium. The full 2023 NFL schedule will be released Thursday at 8 pm ET.
