OAKLAND – Jose Abreu is finally wearing an Astros uniform.

Abreu’s eighth-inning blast was one of seven Astros home runs in Sunday’s 10-1 rout of the A’s at the Oakland Coliseum. The contest capped a three-game sweep, and Houston is undefeated in six games against Oakland this season.

As soon as Abru came off the bat, the ball stood around and he didn’t look at it. The Astros first baseman is running at a 26.2 feet per second clip and doesn’t stop once he crosses the plate. He continued to walk towards the visitors’ dugout, where he slipped under his teammates’ receiving line. He went home with it in 17.6 seconds.

To say that Abreu’s lone shot was a long time coming would be an understatement, as he ended his longest home run in 260 at-bats of his career. Before Sunday, his last home run came on September 13, 2022 as a member of the White Sox.

Abreu’s 51-game hitting streak is the longest of his career to start a season. In the year In 2017, I didn’t go into depth until the 21st game of the season.
