Anudike-Uzomah is a bit of a reach at the 31st overall pick, but an effective rookie season could silence all critics of drafting him in the final pick of the first round of the 2023 draft. Kansas State sack production Brett Veach and company were too tempting to pass up, and as a Kansas City native, he has no problem settling in with his new team.

Wildcat fans are sure to be relieved by this pick, which keeps one of the most accomplished defensive backs in Kansas State football history for the first four years of his NFL career. Anudike-Uzomah will need to work hard to develop a more dynamic grappling show and may put on some weight ahead of training camp, but he has the upside to make a difference for the Chiefs in 2023.

To be completely honest, I don’t like this choice, but I respect it. Kansas City must continue to improve on defense, and plenty of wide receivers and linebackers remain. After taking this talented pass rusher in the first round, expect the Chiefs to improve their offense on Day 2.
