The Coca-Cola 600 has officially been extended.
The biggest NASCAR Cup race at Charlotte Motor Speedway has been postponed until Monday at 3 p.m. after rain washed out all track action on Sunday. The last time North Carolina’s biggest NASCAR race was held on Monday was in 2009.
The Coca-Cola 600 will still be on FOX.

Gates will open to patrons at 9 a.m. Monday. Saturday’s rain-delayed NASCAR Xfinity Series race will take place at 11 a.m. Fans can watch on FS1.
In a Twitter video released at 9:21 a.m. Sunday, Charlotte Motor Speedway general manager Greg Walker said fans with tickets to both races will be allowed entry to both the Xfinity race and the Cup race on Monday. (This is a policy change for the racetrack that came out at 6:30 p.m.; there are now no requirements for fans to leave the grandstands following the Xfinity race.)
Fans with unredeemed tickets to an Xfinity race or Cup race may exchange them for any other speedway motorsports NASCAR or NTT IndyCar race at the same or lower ticket-for-ticket price in the following calendar year.

The track and NASCAR haven’t made any announcements about changing the start time, but unofficially, it looks like we’ll be looking at a later than 6 p.m. start time for the first time — if the race is held on Sunday. If not, it looks like Monday will be possible starting mid-afternoon, but again, nothing official.
4:17 PM: Indy 500 – What people around the track like to consider the “warm-up event” for the Coke 600 is over in Indianapolis. It was playing on the big screen at Charlotte Motor Speedway and in various locations around the track. Joseph Newgarden was the winner of the Indy 500. It remains to be seen whether this will be the last major tournament on Sunday. Steady rain will continue.

3:54 p.m. When will the start time of the competition be decided? It’s hard to say.
NASCAR will not make any calls for overtime until after the start of a race if there is a possibility of a rally during a dry weather window. Case in point: It took the sanctioning body until 3.47pm yesterday – after the scheduled 12pm start time – to officially extend the Xfinity Series race to Monday at 12pm. (By the way, the race at Dover at 11:00 a.m. has been postponed for a few hours before Cup race.) It’s worth noting that rescheduling this big race isn’t the easiest endeavor with TV commitments, especially with the aforementioned Xfinity Series race. A Monday doubleheader is definitely possible. It’s also worth noting that only half the race needs to be completed to be “official”.
3:34 p.m. The rain started pouring down on the tarmac at Charlotte Motor Speedway just after 10 a.m. Saturday and hasn’t stopped since. In fact, it got worse. Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race is scheduled to start just after 6 p.m., but an on-time start will require a few hours of Air Titan track drying and several hours without rain — Sunday’s forecast doesn’t look promising. .
