MLB Rumors: The Cincinnati Reds are reportedly inquiring about a few starting pitchers from the Chicago White Sox. John Morosi reported the news but did not name who the Reds might be targeting. The 2023 trade deadline is fast approaching and the Reds want to start, so these two teams could be trade partners in the near future.

Which Chicago White Sox starting pitchers could the Cincinnati Reds target via trade? (MLB Rumors)

There are a few levels of possible White Sox starting pitchers. The first phase includes a pair of rentals in Lucas Giolito and Lance Lynn.

Giolotio’s 2023 base salary is $10.4 million, but the cost to acquire him this offseason would be more practical for any team. Lin is technically a rental but has an $18 million club option for the 2024 season that will almost certainly be declined.

  • Lucas Giolotio – Has a 3.45 ERA and 1.139 WHIP in 19 starts and 112.1 innings pitched.
  • Lance Lynn – In 18 starts and 103 innings pitched, he has a 6.03 ERA and a 1.417 WHIP.

There are two pitchers in the division, Dylan Chase and Michael Kopech. Both of these arms are controllable for many more seasons. Some reports indicate that the White Sox are not listening to offers on Cease, but are open to hearing from teams on a deal with Kopech.
