Happy Memorial Day, everyone. I want to start by remembering all those who risked their lives for our freedom. I also want to thank those who fought for freedom. Today is a great day for family, friends and baseball, but it’s important to remember the real reason for this celebration. That being said, we have baseball all day today. What better way to celebrate our country than with its national pastime?
In this article I will cover the first six games. This board is fun because we don’t have any slam dunk games on the hill. The same goes for stacks. This led me to build a contrasting line-up, blurring the chalk we see today. In my opinion, this is one of the boards with less than 10% arm or stack separation in our lineup.
This article presents mine Daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/29/2023 And the board is locked in 1:05 pm ET. The lineup selection ranges from some popular players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It’s important to keep up with injury news and today’s MLB starting lineup. Now that we got all that out of the way, it’s on to the selection! DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers – MLB DFS lineup picks
Nathan Eovaldi, TEX at DET ($10,500 DK, $11,200 FD)
I never thought I’d see the day when Nathan Eovaldi would become the most expensive pitcher on the DFS slate, but here we are. Eovaldi has been impressive in his last five starts. He went eight innings in four of those five starts. He scored over 27.8 DraftKings points in four of those five starts.
Over his last five starts, he is averaging 8.1 innings per start with a 0.86 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts in 41.2 innings. Through 2023, he has a 3.40 SIERA, 25.0% K, 12.1% SwStr and 4.2% BB. He also has 51.6% GB with only a 31.2% hard-hit rate.
He now faces the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. The Tigers have a 23.0% K% against right-handed pitchers, right around the league average. They have the fifth worst 85 wRC+ in baseball. Their .292 wOBA and .350 SLG are both low five in baseball.
Although the reverse attack wasn’t the Tigers we’re used to attacking, this offense didn’t do much damage. The park is a pitcher’s park, and I like Eovaldi’s chances of going deep into this game and racking up fantasy points.
Mike Mayers, KC at STL ($5,400 DK, $8,000 FD)
Mike Myers is the wild card on today’s slate. He will be a massive reliever today behind starter Josh Staumont. Meyers, drafted by the Cardinals, will make his third start for the Royals this season. In the first two outings, he was very good. He has a 3.89 SIERA, 33.3% K% and 12.1% SwStr%.
He is also 23.5% hard-hitting with 47.1% GB. Obviously, this is a limited sample size, but those numbers are very popular. In his last start, he had eight hits on 84 pitches. He threw his slider 35% of the time, whiffing 56% of the time. He had 14 total whiffs in his last start.
Mayers is a bit pricey at $8,000 on FanDuel, but at $5,400 on DraftKings, I like him as a value play. It will be against the Cardinals, which is not an easy matchup. He has a 21.2% K%, 109 wRC+, .328 wOBA and .424 SLG against the right-handed pitcher this season.
The price is what attracts Meyers here. We don’t often find a sub 5.5K pitcher with a strikeout rate above 30% and a chance to throw a 90 pitch. This may be our last chance to get Mayers at a discount. As for PLR, I can’t see it getting much ownership here.
Also consider: Taj Bradley, JP France.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders – MLB DFS lineup picks
Christian Walker – 1B, ARZ vs. Kark Kauffman ($4,400 DK, $3,300 FD)
Carl Kaufman leads today’s slate with a 5.80 SIERA and a 63.3% slugging percentage. Righties hit hard this season with a .557 wOBA, .263 ISO, and 62.5%. In the past 30 days, Christian Walker has been on. He has a .322 wOBA, .214 wOBA and a 47.2% slugging rate. Walker’s price is low and his power is high.
Vinnie Pasquantino – 1B, KC vs. Adam Wainwright ($4,200 DK, $3,100 FD)
Adam Wainwright has struggled since returning from the injury list. He has a 5.75 SIERA, 6.1% BB and a 28.0% solid rate. Left-handed batters have him at a .408 wOBA, .293 ISO, 42.1% FB, and a 44.7% hard-hit rate. Vinnie P. has a .343 wOBA, .232 ISO, and a 45.7% hard hit rate against righties this season. This is a perfect match for Pasquantino.
Josh Jung – 3B, TEX vs. Matthew Boyd ($4,900 DK, $3,600 FD)
Josh Jung faces left-back Matthew Boyd this afternoon. Boyd has a 4.80 SIERA, a .345 wOBA, .186 ISO, 49.5% FB, and a 37.4% hard-hit rate against righties this season. Jung grinds the left nuts. He has a .425 wOBA, .319 ISO and a 55.6% strikeout rate against left-handed pitching. I expect Jung to hold a position today.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders – MLB DFS lineup picks
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. – OF, ARZ vs. Karl Kauffmann ($4,300 DK, $3,500 FD)
Loretta Gurriel will face Carl Kaufman this afternoon. Speaking of Christian Walker as mentioned above, Kauffmann leads the SIERA and heavy-hitting board. It also showed signs of a reverse split. Gurriel is also a reverse right-handed batter. He has a .380 wOBA, .311 ISO and a 46.9% hard hit rate this season. Over the past 30 days, he had a .460 wOBA, .435 ISO and a 49.0% slugging rate. It’s my favorite game on the board.
Adolis Garcia – OF, TEX vs. Matthew Boyd ($5,500 DK, $4,200 FD)
Garcia got a similar matchup to the aforementioned Josh Jung. Garcia owns a .358 wOBA, .256 ISO and a 39.4% strikeout rate against lefties this season. Over the last 30 days, he has a .472 wOBA, a .364 ISO and a 44.4% hard hit rate. Garcia is in a great matchup and trending in the right direction.
Byron Buxton OF, MIN vs. JP France ($5,800 DK, $3,600 FD)
Buxton face JP France today. Although France is very good, it is vulnerable to right-handed batters. So far this season, he has a .446 wOBA, .383 ISO, 51.4% FB, and 45.9% hard hit rate. In terms of splits this season, Buxton owns a .365 wOBA, .261 ISO and 38.3% slugging rates. I don’t like the twins in this place but I love Buxton to have one.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS stack
1. Arizona Diamondbacks by Carl Kauffmann
The Diamondbacks will face Carl Kauffman at home this afternoon. Kauffman was hit hard in his first two starts in the big leagues. He has a 5.80 SIERA, 11.9% BB, 37.9% FB, and a 63.3% hard-hit rate. He has made one start at the course and one at Globe Life. He’s been relatively consistent over his first two starts with a .557 wOBA, .263 ISO and 62.5% hitting against solid righties. He has a .235 wOBA, .125 ISO, and a 50.0% strikeout rate against pitchers.
The Diamondbacks are eighth in baseball with a 105 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers. They also have a .330 wOBA, .179 ISO and .438 SLG over the division. As mentioned above, Lourdes Gurriel is a great play on today’s slate because of the splits, but I don’t leave left-handed bats in the mix. The Rockies bullpen is at the bottom of baseball with a 4.16 SIERA and a 34.8% hard hit rate. The Diamondbacks are my top stack on the board today.
Favorite Plays: Lourdes Gurriel, Christian Walker, Corbin Carroll, Geraldo Perdomo, Ketel Marte, Pavin Smith
2. Matthew Boyd of the Texas Rangers
Texas Rangers left tackle Matthew Boyd. Boyd has a 4.80 SIERA and a 9.6% BB. He dominates left-handed batsmen, so we will mainly focus on right-handed batsmen. He has a .345 wOBA, .186 ISO, 49.5% FB and 37.4% slugging rates this season.
The left-handed pitcher of the Texas Rangers. They are third in baseball with a 130 wRC+ and .358 wOBA. They are seventh in baseball with a .457 SLG. Adolis Garcia, Josh Jung and Jonah Haim are three of the best pitchers in the Gulf, hitting back-to-back in this lineup. The Tigers bullpen has a 3.87 SIERA and a 32.9% strikeout rate. I love Rangers today.
Favorite Cast: Josh Jung, Adolis Garcia, Jonas Haim, Marcus Semien, Robbie Grossman, Corey Seager
