Shayne Trail breaks down the day’s favorite NRFI/YRFI bets below, but you can follow all of his bets in the Action Network app.

Match Phillies vs. Tigers · Braves vs. Mets
First step 6:05 pm ET · 7:20 pm ET

Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performance of two pitchers.

This personalized bet can be set up at sportsbooks like DraftKings and Barstool Sportsbook. This NRFI bet is different from the traditional NRFI, as it combines two different halves of the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to set the bet according to your preferences.

Phillies ace Zach Wheeler will take the mound first today.

He continues his dominant NRF performance from the 2022 season. With an impressive 32-6 record since 2022, Wheeler has shown exceptional form, especially going 17-2 at home.

While the Tigers are known for their poor hitting ability, their struggles have gotten worse lately, especially in the first round. Over the past 14 days, the Tigers have hit just twice in 47 plate appearances, resulting in a .091 average.

Historically, Wheeler has had success against certain Tigers players, such as Javier Baez (2-for-12), Zach McKinstry (1-for-5), Jake Marsinick (1-for-5) and Jonathan Schoop (0-for-5). 3)

Our second pick is Braves veteran Charlie Morton.

Morton boasts a respectable 8-3 NRF record this season. However, we’re targeting him specifically for his unique home NRFI split, going a perfect 5-0 this season and an impressive 19-2 since last season.

Additionally, the New York Mets have struggled in the first inning over the past two weeks, recording just six hits in 47 plate appearances for a .150 average.

Morton faced the Mets many times throughout his long career, especially as a division rival. Despite being introduced to Morton, the Mets couldn’t figure him out with players like Brandon Nimmo (4-for-18), Francisco Linder (5-for-37), Starling Marte (4-for-19), Mark Canha. (3-14), Tommy Pham (1-for-7) and Pete Alonso (6-21) couldn’t find success against him.

Factoring in the home NRFI splits of both pitchers, we have a combined 36-4 split from last season. DraftKings offers this custom NRFI pick at -175 in writing, while Barstool Sportsbook offers similar odds.

As always, six for glory…
