Major League Baseball unveiled the 2024 regular-season schedule on Thursday, the final day of the 2023 All-Star break. Each team will have a full schedule on their group stage, but with 30 teams playing 162 game schedules, we’ll bring you the highlights here.

What we already know is that the season begins March 20-21 in South Korea with a series between the Dodgers and Padres.Full story here).

Here are some other dates and series that stood out.

  • A traditional “opening day” on March 28 will see all 30 teams practice. Then there are eight games on March 29, a full 15 games each on March 30 and 31, and then the season continues.
  • On April 27-28, the Rockies and Astros will meet in Mexico City.
  • The Mets and Phillies will be participants in next year’s London Series, which will be June 8-9.
  • Special game at Rickwood Field with Negro Leagues Tribute (Full story here) on June 20 between the Braves and Cardinals.
  • The All-Star Game is Tuesday, July 16 at Globe Life Field (Rangers) in Arlington. That makes the Home Run Derby on Monday, July 15th.
  • MLB has two doubleheaders scheduled! How about that. The A’s host the Rangers for one on May 8, while the Rockies visit the Giants on July 27.
  • All 30 teams play on the following special dates: Jackie Robinson Day (April 15), Lou Gehrig Day (June 2), Fourth of July, Roberto Clemente Day (September 15).
  • As usual, all 30 teams will be present on Sunday, the final day of the tournament. This time it will be September 29th, assuming all games start around the same time. This means the playoffs must begin on Tuesday, October 1st.

And here’s the opening day schedule for March 28. This will be the season opener for every team except the Dodgers and Padres.
