  • 3rd round – No. 98: Devin Saltiban, outfielder, Hilo HS (Hawaii)

Saltiban, 18, from Hawaii, was the top prospect from the state. Although he is known as a shortstop, there is a good chance he will play the field professionally. The young right-hander trained with Colton Wong’s father, Kaha, to prepare for the draft and pro ball, and faced elite competition in the MLB Draft. – Ty Daubert.

  • 4th round – No. 130: Tyshawn Walton, outfielder, IMG Academy (Florida)

The 18-year-old Walton is a bat-first outfielder with superior contact and a solid hitting arsenal. Power isn’t his primary skill at this point, but there’s reason to believe the 6-foot-3 good approach could develop as he moves through the system. – Ty Daubert.

  • Round 6 – No. 193: George Klassen, RHP, University of Minnesota

With Klassen, the Phillies play on collegiate production. Klassen, who had Tommy John surgery, has a “98 average fastball.” The 21-year-old has posted a 6.72 ERA in 25 career collegiate games, 17 of which have been starts. But like, you can either throw 100 mph or you can’t, and he can. – Tim Kelly

Round 7 – No. 223: Jake Eddington, RHP, Missouri State University

A 6-foot-2, 185-pound righty, Eddington went 4-2 with a 4.20 ERA in 55 2/3 innings last season. The 22-year-old slugger will be his meal ticket. He transferred from Alabama to Missouri State, the same college program that drafted Phillies icon Ryan Howard, a fifth-round pick in 2001. – Tim Kelly

8th round – No. 253: Bryson Ware, third baseman, Auburn University

There are now two players named Bryson in the Phillies organization. Ware was identified as a third baseman, but played primarily in the infield in college. The 22-year-old had a breakout season for Auburn in 2023, hitting .350 with 24 home runs, 63 RBIs and a 1.169 OPS. – Tim Kelly
