The Portland Trail Blazers have every intention of building their roster around Damian Lillard. This includes keeping a key free agent and trying to add foreign talent.
Reports suggest Portland plans to re-sign Grant as part of their efforts to rebuild around Lillard. Grant averaged 20.5 points with the Blazers last season, shooting 47.5% overall and 40.1% on three-pointers.
The Trail Blazers were previously interested in trading for Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns. It’s unclear whether getting Ayton could be part of a deal in which Portland moves on other players. The Blazers are considering trading Anfernee Simons and the third overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
