The Pacers will be well represented during NBA All-Stars weekend in Salt Lake City with both Benedict Maturin and Andrew Nemhard among the rookies selected for the NBA Jordan Rising All-Star Game.

On Tuesday, the league announced the four teams that will compete against G-League teams in the Rising Start Tournament on Friday, Feb. 17, a collection of rookies and sophomores.

It’s no surprise that both players were included in the starting lineup, with Maturin continuing to put up big numbers off the bench while molding behind Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero. Bachero seems to have put this award away early, but if Ben can keep up his consistent effort, the voters will have to let the fight go and take another look. But the best part of Maturin is that while he appreciates the nod to the Rising Stars game, you know why he’s wondering why it wasn’t considered for the original Stars game.

As for Nembhardt, the undisputed steal of the draft quickly established himself in the Pacers rotation and then forced his way into the league with a dramatic game-winner against the Lakers. Now he needs to finish his injury-riddled rookie grind with Tyrese Halliburton, but he’s undoubtedly on this list. Walker Kessler is the next lowest rookie to be selected as the No. 22 overall pick.

Here is the list of players:

Can’t help but love the format of the games on All-Star Friday night. The pool of rookies and sophomores will be split into three 7-man teams, with the G-League’s consensus No. 2 pick in the upcoming NBA draft, Scott Henderson, taking the fourth team. Two semi-finals will be 40 (advances to the Elam final) and then the winners will play for the championship at 25 a game.

It’s always fun to have the Pacers participate in All-Star Weekend festivities, and these rookies certainly got their shine on.
