While the Chicago Bulls aren’t a championship-caliber team, they’re not looking to break things up anytime soon. Arturas Karnisovas had as much to say during his post-season press conference. However, running the same core backwards can lead to similar intermediate results.

It’s highly unlikely to happen, but the Bulls better hit the reset button and get traction for their stars. They could get a lot of young players and draft assets in exchange for Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and even Alex Caruso. In a recent article. Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz suggests a deal that would send LaVine to the Orlando Magic.

Trading LaVine now could increase Chicago’s potential return for him, and the trade for Swartz would give them some nice pieces to work with moving forward.

Chicago Bulls trade Zach LaVine to Orlando Magic: Bulls view mocked.

Swartz believes this is a logical first step if the Bulls choose to begin a rebuild.

“If the Bulls decide to rebuild, flipping LaVine for young talent and draft picks is one of the first steps.

“Suggs, 21, was the 5th overall pick in 2021 and will immediately slide into Lavin’s old starting spot,” Swartz wrote. “Harris is a reliable 3-and-D wing and Isaac is still only 25 having missed the last three seasons with injuries.

“Chicago will get their first round pick this year (11th overall) and a future pick from Orlando.”

Chicago Bulls trade Zach LaVine to Orlando Magic: A magical look.

Meanwhile, he believes the Magic may be ready to take a step forward, and LaVine will help them do just that.

“Looks like he’s poised to leapfrog the competition next season,” Swartz wrote. “Obviously, marketing a two-star star like LaVine would also speed things up.

“LaVine, 28, is averaging 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and shooting 37.5 percent this season. Put him in a starting lineup with Markelle Fultz, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. and suddenly opponents have a real fear of facing his magic.”

Chicago Bulls mock Zach LaVine trade to Orlando Magic: Should Bulls make this trade?

If this trade comes across the table for the Bulls, they should jump at the chance to do it.

Suggs gives them a great young guard to build and grow. Harris gives them some good guard depth, and Isaac could be a good piece to take a chance on.

But most importantly, the Bulls should trade up in this year’s draft lottery and add another forward first. Those choices will be critical to their future.
