The old saying goes that it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

That’s right, the man who plays Miami Heat mascot Bernie had to go to the emergency room Friday night after being hit twice by UFC star Conor McGregor during Game 4 of the NBA Finals. A report.

The man who plays Bernie is doing well after receiving pain medication and being sent home, according to The Athletic.

As part of his skate, Bernie, who was wearing a fighter’s robe and large gloves, moved toward McGregor in a fighting position at center court. After McGregor, who was promoting Pain Relief, floored Burnie with a left hook, he landed a straight punch to the face of the mascot’s headgear while Burnie was lying face down.

McGregor, the first fighter in UFC history to hold championships in two different weight classes at the same time, is serving as a trainer on season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality television show.

McGregor has not competed since breaking his left leg in a July 2021 fight against Dustin Poirier.

The Heat will try to hold off the Denver Nuggets on Monday night (8:30 ET, ABC) with a possible win in Game 5 of the best-of-seven NBA championship series.
