When Jeremy Sochan was the No. 9 pick out of Baylor last summer, it was clear that his ability as a defensive end was a big part of San Antonio’s decision to become a lottery pick.
Sochan has always been somewhat raw, but in his rookie season, he took steps forward that gave Spurs fans hope for his potential on that end of the floor.
Although Sochan struggled with penalty kicks early in the season, she never wavered in finding solutions and ways to improve. He even started shooting his rifle with one hand.
Sochan’s results are promising. Sochan is 39-for-52 (75%) from the foul line since switching to a one-handed shutout on Dec. 19, according to Kevin O’Connor. Caller
Focusing on his form at the line, he went 14 for 41 from three-point land, for a respectable 34.1% from deep.
There’s no question about Sochan’s playing ability and the way he’s defended since entering the NBA. A continued improved offensive game could take Sochan’s game to a different level.
In 42 games this season, Sochan is averaging 9.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists on 46.0% shooting from the floor.
