Roland Quandt presents the first look at the Amazfit Cheetah series, which will be available in standard and pro variants. Currently, it is not clear what distinguishes the Cheetah from silicone and fabric straps. For example, product images show both smartwatches with two hardware buttons, although the ‘select’ button looks like a digital crown. Additionally, the Cheetah and Cheetah Pro have comparatively thinner display bezels and less noticeable bezels.
The pair’s feature set is currently unknown, and it’s unclear how the Cheetah series will fit into the rest of Amazon’s product stack. Based on their design, the Cheetah and Cheetah Pro should expand on the company’s Adventure series, which currently only includes T-Rex smartwatches. As far as we can tell, the Cheetah will feature the same sensors as the T-Rex Ultra instead of the GTR4. Amazfit Smart Watches and Fitness Trackers.
However, it does feature the Cheetah’s model number A2294, which appeared in FCC filings last month alongside the A2292. As we discussed at the time, Cheetah appeared to be a codename, not a release name. Instead, A2292 and A2294 were thought to be members of the GTR 5 series. The designs shown below suggest otherwise, and are the sportiest of any GTR 4 models. Unfortunately, Quandt has only shared official pictures of the cheetah and the cheetah so far. Specifications, pricing and availability are yet to be released.
