Amazfit has announced the Pop 3R, which it introduced almost two weeks ago, alongside the quadrangular Pop 3S. While the pair share common ancestry, Pop 3R is much smaller than Pop 3S. Specifically, Amazfit has built the former around a 1.43-inch AMOLED display (466 x 466 pixels), which it covers with ‘2.5D glass’. The company’s teaser images suggest that the Pop 3R has relatively thin bezels, though we’d recommend waiting for images of the retail units to arrive before making any judgments on the matter.

Either way, the Pop 3R is 10.8mm thick, 45.5mm diagonally wide and IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. Please note that Amazfit does not recommend wearing the smartwatch while swimming. Instead, the smartwatch’s IP rating only guarantees water resistance when submerged in 1 meter of water for more than 30 minutes. Still, the Amazfit integrates 100 sports modes, a SPO2 sensor and a continuous heart rate monitor. Sleep tracking is also supported, but the Pop 3R appears to lack a GPS module.

What’s more, Amazfit has pre-installed more than 100 watch faces and confirmed that you can create a custom background using personal photos. Incidentally, Amazfit advertises the Pop 3R as offering up to 12 days of battery life, a figure that matches the Pop 3S’s official runtime. The Amazfit Pop 3R will be available to order in India starting June 29. At launch, Amazfit will sell the smartwatch with a silicone strap for INR 3,499 (~US$43). Mirroring the Pop 3S, the Pop 3R is also available with a metal watch band, but for a higher price of INR 3,999 (~US$49). Amazon is yet to comment on the availability of the new Pop series smartwatches outside India.
