Garmin beta version 12.53 is now available for Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945 smartwatches. The latest software brings two bug fixes to wearables, firstly addressing an issue that caused the watches to crash when displaying certain daily suggested workouts. The second issue Garmin worked on was a rare bug that caused the gadget to lock up during PacePro activity.

Garmin notes that it has made minor GPS improvements in the v12.53 changelog. The previous update, official beta version 12.52, was released almost a month ago. This software also brings a bug fix for these wearables, solving an issue where VO2 Max or training load data is not updating as expected. Beta version 12.53 is a release candidate, which means Garmin intends to share a copy of this update with all smartwatches, assuming it doesn’t encounter any significant issues.

As with other recent updates for the Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945 wearables, the latest software is delivered directly to eligible watches via Garmin Connect Manager, where the device is checked daily. At the time of writing, the beta update has been released to 50% of smartwatches enrolled in the Garmin beta program. If you want to join the program, you can do so through Garmin Connect.
