Garmin’s pre-release beta 13.12 update for the Venu 2 smartwatch series is now available. The new software also offers bug fixes, such as fixing issues such as dehydration notifications. While Garmin says the rollout is complete, some users have reported issues updating the Venu 2 Plus model.

Garmin has released beta version 13.12 for the Venu 2 smartwatch series. This is a minor update, with a list of bug fixes in the changelog, such as making sure the screen is lit for the hydration notification, which can remind you to take your next drink. Garmin also added the ability to review Connect IQ apps directly from the watch instead of accessing the store on another device.

Garmin lists ANT+ enhancements, but doesn’t provide further details. The new software is in pre-release stage, which means Venu 2 owners will have to install the update OTA over Wi-Fi. You can update to v13.12 by going to: Main Menu > Settings > System > Software Update Garmin notes that the pre-release is complete and should be available for all eligible watches, including the Venu 2 and Venu 2S.

However, several users have noticed on the Garmin forum that they are unable to download some of the latest updates, including version 13.12, for the Venu 2 Plus wearable. The company did not say that this was intentional. A traditional release is expected to follow these initial tests, although the timing of this second release is unclear. If you want to sign up for the Garmin beta program, you can do so through Garmin Connect.
