A Chesterfield Township mobile home burst into flames Friday morning after a gas line burst near 23 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue.

About 11:30 a.m., a utility crew working in the area of ​​the Carriage Way mobile home park reported they had hit a gas line, causing a leak, Chesterfield Township Public Safety Director Brian Bassett said.

“Soon after the initial call, unfortunately, we were contacted that there was an explosion and one of the houses was completely engulfed in flames,” he said.
