Marvel Studios has revealed that Tenoch Huerta’s Namor has been blocked from making a solo film. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Huerta’s MCU villain quickly picked up steam as one of the fan-favorite Phase 4 newcomers.

such as Black Panther 2Submarine has become such a fan-favorite, one would expect the next step to be a solo film for the character. Well, that might not be easy, as Universal holds the rights to characters like Mark Ruffalo’s Incredible Hulk.

And how this chaotic web of rights management seems to have affected Wakanda forever It could be marketed before its release and there could be a standalone film centered around the character.

Namor misses Wakanda’s Forever Marketing Machine.

Namor, Black Panther
It’s amazing

Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore has revealed that he was blocked from making a Namor movie after being part of the complicated rights situation surrounding Namor. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Turnock’s Huerta Namor said Moore spoke to The Wrap. “He can come back.” to the MCU, but it can’t be a stand-alone movie focused on the character.

In the same breath, he was denied access to Marvel Studios. Black Panther 2 A villain as part of the film’s marketing campaign, except as part of a series of posters.

The character only appeared a few times in the lead up to the film, but they were all part of a collection of character posters for every major player in the MCU epic.

Moore told the outlet that the rights situation with the character was even more damaging. “why [they] market the film”. rather than “why [they] Use it in a movie:

“It really affects us more, and not so much talking outside of school, but how we market the movie, rather than how we use him in the movie.”

He pointed out that “Of course things were not [they] I couldn’t do it.” Because they helped me “It took a lot of inspiration from the source material.”

There weren’t things we couldn’t do for him character-wise, which is good, because obviously we took a lot of inspiration from the source material, but we made some big changes to support him in that world that never really made it to print, I’d argue.

Moore praised. Wakanda forever Director Ryan Coogler not only developed Namor’s character, but also the underwater world around him and how he developed it around legitimacy:

“I’ve read and loved all the Namor comics ever written, but the world of Atlantis draws a little more clearly. Maybe it’s a type of pomegranate. And so, Ryan, being the detail-oriented filmmaker that he is, wanted to anchor something that he hoped would fuel people like Wakanda, something tangible and real. And I think there’s nothing stopping us from doing anything on the commercial side, which is great;

What is Namor’s MCU future amid rights issues?

For those who didn’t know Namor, it would be hard to know how completely drained he was in the flesh, just like the Hulk. Black Panther Subsequently, however, it will affect how he appears in marketing materials and the potential of his own single film.

But fans shouldn’t worry that Universal still owns the movie rights to Namor. Just because the studio is barred from making a standalone Namor-centric film doesn’t mean Tenoch Huerta’s villain will be left by the wayside.

Just look at what the MCU has done with the Hulk. They haven’t made a solo Hulk movie since 2008. The Incredible HulkHowever, the character has remained intrinsic to the franchise’s DNA, appearing in supporting roles in six Marvel Studios projects over the past decade. And there is some hope that a possible deal could be made for another Hulk-sized big screen blockbuster.

And that might be on Huerta’s Sub-Mariner. He and the world of Taloqan will be heard again, maybe not in a standalone film.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Now it can be seen in theaters worldwide.
