Almost the entire film industry has condemned the brutal incident against two women in Manipur. A video has been shown in which two tribal women are seen posing naked and being harassed by men. As Kashmir file director Vivek Agnihotri wrote a poem saying “I’m sorry” for their failure, actor Soni Razdan asked the government to ‘be present in Manipur’ before anything else. Vivek Agnihotri wrote poetry

Vivek Agnihotri wrote a heartbreaking poem on the Manipur incident. He tweeted, “MANIPUR: Moplah, Direct Action Day, Noakhali, Bangladesh, Punjab, Kashmir, Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Bastar and now Manipur… whenever our innocent mothers and sisters become the ultimate victims of inhumane, barbaric acts. As a Bharatiya, as a man, as a man, I break every time. I’m ashamed. I am very guilty of understanding.”

The poem reads: “O Manipur, I tried… I tried… but I failed.

All I can do now is tell their sad stories through my work. But by then it was too late.

We are all victims of selective and highly competitive electoral politics.

We are victims of the religion.

We are victims of dangerous media.

We people of Bharat are victims.

There is no #right to #life in free India. And we can’t do anything about it.

This is not the freedom I want.

This is not the democracy I want.

It doesn’t matter if it makes us love each other’s blood.

We are a fallen society.

Sorry my sisters.

Sorry moms.

Sorry Bharat Mata.

Bollywood celebrities want justice for the victims

Sanjay Dutt also wrote on Twitter, “The video of violence against women in Manipur was shocking and sad. My highest hope is that the culprits are punished severely, it sends a clear message that such heinous acts will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

Demanding the government’s urgent attention on the issue, Soni Razdan tweeted, “Before anyone does anything about anything – get to Manipur first.” This is a plea on behalf of the people of Manipur who are being brutally brutalized including women @PMOIndia @rashtrapatibhvn @GovtOfIndia_”

Demanding severe punishment for the culprits, Kiara Advani also tweeted: “The video of violence against women in Manipur is horrifying and shocking. I pray that the women get justice. Those responsible should face the most severe punishment they deserve.”

Riteish Deshmukh said, “I am deeply disturbed by the sight of violence against women in Manipur… I am fuming with anger… No one should go unpunished for such a crime. An attack on a woman’s dignity is an attack on humanity itself.

Vir Das questioned why no action was taken when the real incident took place and the video got attention only when it went viral. “When horrible things happen, they do no wrong, our leaders know immediately through the system. Twitter knows months later when videos go viral. If leaders respond, it’s on Twitter, not horrible things. They’re worried about online outrage, not real people,” he tweeted.

Singer Sona Mohapatra also took to Twitter and said, “No words can describe the horror I feel when I read the news about the women in Manipur. It hobbles my voice and makes my heart flutter.

Self-proclaimed film critic Akshay Kumar responded to his reaction to the Manipur violence and wrote: “If @akshaykumar can speak out against injustice then why can’t other actors speak out? If you cannot stand against tyranny, you should not call yourself a representative of the people. Akshay tweeted on Thursday morning, “Shocked, disgusted to see video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope the perpetrators will be severely punished and no one will think of doing such a horrible thing again. “
