After a few days Black Panther: Wakanda Forever It was hitting Disney+ on January 20th, the service itself has confirmed that’s not the case. Instead of debuting on the stream later this month, Ryan Coogle’s critically acclaimed sequel will debut on the service on February 1st.

The news was met with little fanfare, as Disney+ simply added a page to the film stating that the film would be added on February 1, 2023.

As of Monday, the sequel has earned a whopping $820 million at the global box office, allowing Disney to keep the film in theaters beyond the pandemic’s short release window. Despite its commercial success, Marvel Studios has yet to officially greenlight a third film in the franchise.

“That’s a really good question. To be honest, I’m not trying to avoid answering that question,” Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore said in a chat with . Conflict When asked about the third film last November. “We want to see how the audience receives the movie, and I think Ryan is very interested in seeing how the movie plays out before we make a decision. There are definitely ideas floating around about what the third movie could be if we get to make it. But until the movie comes out, we’re a little bit naive in that sense.
