We’ve been running down a list of every player to wear a number in Cincinnati Bengals history – but is there a Bengals player who is the best in the NFL to wear a number?

That’s what Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar thought in a recent project where he listed the best players in history to wear numbers 1-99.

It’s an interesting read, even if the Bengals don’t show up very often.

His biggest competitor was probably Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz, but he’s only a respectable name at No. 78. Understandably, he shared a number with all-timer Bruce Smith. Others, such as AJ Green (18) and Corey Dillon (28), were also honored with the cut.

On the current roster, Joe Burroughs is probably the most reliable name to fight for the top spot at some point, but Drew Brees should be dethroned. Ja Marr Chase eventually had to pass Warren Moon.
