For iPhone users, texting curse words hasn’t traditionally been an easy task, with “duck” being a popular F-word stand-in for many people. But Apple announced at its Worldwide Developers Conference yesterday that G-rated auto-correction will end with the latest update.

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, said on Monday: “The keyboard learns these times when you want to type a duck word.”

This change will come soon iOS 17Federighi spoke at the conference for the first time this fall. The new autocorrect system “improves the experience every time you write,” he said, adding that the “very sophisticated” machine learning system now includes a “transformative language model.”

The iPhone’s auto-correct function has frustrated some users, sparking an ongoing series of “wrong jokes” all over social media around the world. It even led to a specific Reddit page.

The new update also allows users to go back to the word they originally typed, just by tapping on the word in question when AutoCorrect appears to have typed something. Predictive text allows users to complete words and sentences by clicking the space bar.

The AutoCorrect update is one of several new improvements and updates coming from Apple, including leaving messages on Facetime and using Facetime on Apple TVs, search filters, Live Stickers and more.

It’s also new to Apple for the company. Vision Pro Virtual Reality Headset, the first major product released by the company in years. The nearly $3,500 headset is said to be the world’s first spatial computer, according to Apple.
