Karen Gomes, president and CEO of Tufts Medicine Care at Home, is retiring at the end of the year.

Gomez, who began her career as a bedside nurse, joined the former Home Health Foundation in 2012 as chief clinical officer and vice president of clinical services, and was promoted to president and CEO in 2017.

Ray Spadoni, a veteran healthcare executive with leadership roles in several home health and hospital organizations nationwide, has been named interim president of Tufts Medicine Care at Home, effective Jan. 3. Gomez worked with his colleagues at Tufts Medicine to create a smooth transition plan.
