Baldur’s Gate 3 It is one of the most anticipated RPG games of this year, delighting fans of Dungeons and Dragons with its unique gameplay and choice of classes. One thing Larian Studios hasn’t shown before is the touchability of Baldur’s Gate 3. The developers took to TikTok earlier today to do just that, posting a video of the Necromancer character’s powers in all their skeleton-themed glory. Following the video, many of us are left with even more questions about the episode than before.

As someone who has never played as a necromancer in D&D, I’m not looking forward to being one in-game. After watching the footage of the new School of Necromancy, my mind has changed. The video shows several bone summons following the player character, the Necromancer. You can also see what appears to be an NPC in the crowd reacting to the bone minions.

The early access build of Baldur’s Gate 3 currently allows you to play as a wizard, but only offers two schools of magic, Abduction and Initiation. The minion horde video is our first look at in-game necromancy, and I’m obsessed with the idea of getting my own undead sequel. Among the existing Baldur’s Gate 3 episodes, the new sub-episode seems to be the most unique yet the most mysterious at the same time.

We’re left with questions about subplots, wondering whether or not Larian Studio is misrepresenting NPCs as necromancers responding to summoned minions, just like how unpopular raising the dead is in D&D. Players are not sure how the skeletons themselves work and that we have to control each group individually rather than as a whole.

Do you get a lot for each mine? In single-player, controlling every zombie can be rewarding enough, but it can be frustrating when playing with friends. For now, we’ll have to wait to see how the School of Necromancy works in depth.
