PASCO, wash. – What do Kadlec, WSU and Range Community Clinic have in common? They are collaborating to make health care more accessible to those who may find it difficult to obtain it.

Dr. Sam Schneider, Range Community Clinic’s medical and program director says this is their fourth clinic and they just keep getting more patients.

Kadlec Regional Medical Center volunteers presented a check for $130,000 to the hospital on January 20.

The three organizations came together and brainstormed how they can provide medical services to the Tri-Cities community who may be uninsured or uninsured.

Dr. Richard Meadows, Chief Medical Officer for Kadlec Medical Group says, “This is a place where they can get that care and hopefully then we can keep them from bad situations that are preventable,” said Dr. Meadows. “We tend to see when they don’t have access to primary care.”

This is not your everyday clinic building. This is an RV that has been turned into a clinic that comes equipped with a lab area and exam room.

According to Dr. Schneider, this particular car is on loan from Spokane. They are just waiting for their more updated one that is being built to be ready.

“We expect that birth in the fall, maybe sometime in November,” said Dr. Schneider. “This is going to be a really nice new vehicle that has some really good advantages to it.”

RICHLAND, Wash. –

The Benton-Franklin Health District reports that there has been a large increase in influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases in the area. Experts predict that an increase will come before the holidays.

Dr. Kevin Marsh, a pediatrician at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, sat down with Wake Up Nonstop Local to educate us on what RSV is, its symptoms, how common it is, and how to prevent it.

Dr. Schneider says the new RV will have two fully equipped patient rooms that will be able to function during the winter.

According to Dr. Schneider, the biggest part of it all is that the patients are so grateful that we’re here and they’re just a pleasure to work with.

The mobile clinic is located in St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank on 6th Ave. in Pasco. The clinic is there every second Wednesday, twice a month that coincides with the food bank’s hours, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dr. Schneider says there is potential to add more dates down the road.
