East Japan Railway Co., or JR East, said on Saturday that a glitch had been resolved after it caused some services, including one offered through its smartphone app for its Suica transit IC card, to become temporarily unavailable for about half of the day.

The issue left Suica Mobile app users unable to use the top-up feature using credit cards. Online train booking service Ekinet was also affected, with users unable to book, change or cancel train tickets.

In addition, ticket machines and Midori no Madoguchi sales counters were temporarily unable to accept credit cards.
