iPhone 15 leaks claim that Apple is planning some eye-opening design changes. Now the prominent ShrimpApplePro detector has detected more details, saying the changes mean the “iPhone 15 now looks more Android than ever.”

In a series of tweets, the anonymous whistleblower pretends that all iPhone 15 models will have curved edges with a dynamic island. The bezels are said to create the same effect as on the Apple Watch, where Apple uses subtle curves to make the screen appear to flow into the sides of the watch. This is a popular trend in Android smartphones, which is where I suspect the comparison comes from.

No doubt some iPhone fans will be troubled by the thought that their phones look more like Android rivals. ShrimpApplePro assures them that their source “described the iPhone 15 pro max (aka ultra) as very nice,” with Apple also revealing that it’s slimming down the bezels on the Pro models.

That said, if the leaker’s comparisons are accurate, I suspect there will be a significant amount of consternation and even backlash from die-hard Apple fans.

Furthermore, ShrimpApplePro says that the iPhone 15 screens will be the same size as the iPhone 14 series (6.1 and 6.7 inches) and will use Ceramic Shield glass. The leaker states that their source sees no change in the size of the front camera hole in the standard iPhone 15 models and believes there will be no improvement here. This makes sense.

Despite a strange moniker, ShrimpApplePro has a strong history and was the first to reveal the new pill-shaped notch on the iPhone 14 Pro models, which eventually housed the Dynamic Island. The leaker also expects the iPhone 15 range to come with solid-state volume and power buttons, something that is now widely reported by other sources.

With iPhone 15 prices expected to rise, Apple needs to grab the attention of fans, and it looks like the looks of these phones will be one of the ways the company will do that — for better or worse.
