The incident sparked outrage from netizens

The video, originally shared on Reddit, opens to show a male teacher leaving the classroom after being pepper-sprayed, followed by a female student who asks for her phone back. The student was reportedly “texting and Googling answers for his schoolwork” when the teacher took his phone away.

Another teacher from a neighboring classroom told the girl she couldn’t get the phone back as the pepper-sprayed teacher was trying to recover.

According to the person who posted the video to Reddit, the same teacher also previously punched another student in the face while confiscating his phone after he was caught cheating. The user explained that such incidents were common at this high school in Antioch.

The incident angered netizens, with many stating that he “just attacked” the lecturer. One of the users said: “This. He will be immediately deported to a third world country. I often wonder why young people in America do not respect their teachers. Kind of a culture shock for me. I am an immigrant. Such behavior will not be tolerated in my native country.”

One said: “The sad thing is, all the other kids just laugh like it’s a joke.”

The third wrote: “And they say schools don’t need armed security guards. Some children are thugs and learn from their mothers.” The fourth added: “The student was definitely not justified either legally or ethically by his actions towards the teacher. The problem with the current generation of kids is that electronics are so embedded in their social fabric, some kids have almost addictive behavior when it’s removed, even temporarily.”
