Disney has “bitten on the diversity poison,” according to TalkTV’s Piers Morgan of the Seven Dwarfs remake, which featured a full-size cast with actors of different races and genders instead of white dwarves.

The live-action adaptation of the classic fairy tale features a Hispanic Snow White (played by Rachel Zeigler), despite her name, who has the same skin tone as Snow White.

In the year In 2022, Dwarf actor Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lannister on Game of Thrones, said it was progressive to cast Ms. Zegler in the lead role, but Snow White’s story is still “pulling back.”

In an episode of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, Mr. Dinklage said: “I’m surprised that they’re so proud of a Latina actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

“You’re progressive in a way, but you’re still making up that backwards story about seven dwarves living together in a cave. What are you doing, man?”

Prince Charing was also removed from the film, with Snow White reimagined as a “stronger” character.

Pearce said the cartoons “bite into the poison apple of diversity” and that the film is “perpetually about the disillusioned”.

He said: “The people who have really suffered in all of this are the six dwarf actors who expect to have a role in this remake.

“These are the most famous dwarf roles in Hollywood history, and the only people who can’t play them are dwarf actors!

“I have no problem casting Rachel Zeigler in the lead, although of course she’s called Snow White because her skin is like snow—her mother called her that.”

Dwarf fighter Dylan Postle said: “There are dwarf actors who dream of being in a big movie like this Disney remake. These roles are made for actors of my level. I can’t go for Harrison Ford or George Clooney roles.”

But comedian James Barr says the film industry needs to push back against skewed narratives.

“Growing up gay, I saw gay people being evil in movies,” he said. “Stereotypes are very important to break.

“A dwarf can play the part of a dwarf, but it might be better if dwarves lived in common roles everywhere.”
