Their love is dividing, not multiplying…
According to “Sister Wives” star Gwendolyn Brown, her mother Christine Brown, 50, is responsible for stepmom Janelle Brown’s newfound independence and confidence after her split from Kody Brown.
Responding to comments on her latest YouTube video in which she responded to past “Sister Wives” episodes, Gwendlyn, 21, shared more about her stepmother’s journey to freedom.
Janelle, 53, responded to the user in previous seasons after calling her “shy” and “friendly.”
“I think my mom encouraged her,” Gwendolyn wrote of Janelle in the comments section, People reports. And it seems to encourage them to be stronger and more independent and self-reliant.
“Sister Wives” first aired on TLC in 2010, a reality show about 54-year-old polygamist Cody Brown and his four wives–Christine, Janelle, Mary and Robyn. However, in recent months, all wives but Robin have separated from Brown.
All together, the Flagstaff, Arizona-based family has 18 children, each of whom shares Cody as their father.
Mary was Brown’s first wife, whom he legally married in 1990. He later “married in spirit” to both Kristen and Janelle, and divorced Meri to legally marry Robyn and have her children in 2014, Us Weekly reported. However, despite the divorce, Mary and Cody remained together in the following years, but announced their separation a few weeks ago.
Kristen split from Brown in November 2021 and Janelle announced her separation from him almost a year later in December 2022.
Gwendlyn’s mother, Christine, hasn’t held back her feelings about not getting together with Brown since announcing the split.
“I haven’t talked to him in person for a while,” she told Us Weekly in an interview last October. “I’ve only seen the episodes, for a while, and I’ve only heard of Janelle. [Brown] Who still talks to him and things. … I think he’s still very hurt and he’s taking it very slowly.
Christine still lives with her ex-sister’s husband, Janelle.
