Looking back, it seems strange that it was only two years since we saw each other. The Real Housewives of New York We hang our heads in shame and turn off our television screens indefinitely. Up to Chapter 13, RHONY It was arguably Bravo’s most consistent franchise run. It has produced many dramas, memories and unforgettable faces.

But when the show’s leading light, Bethenny Frankel, exited the series for the second time ahead of season 12, it was as if the wheels that set the show in motion were set in motion. Loyal viewers spent the next two seasons watching the show until it was no more than a rubber shell of what it once was. Sure, it was still better than most reality television, but the drunken, middle-aged women we know and love are now filled with both anger and power, a far cry from the starry-eyed lunches of the show’s opening.

Frankly, it’s not worth looking over our shoulders anymore. I’ve been doing it too long, and my neck is starting to crack. We always have. RHONY has been. Now, we have to move forward with RHONY That is: an entirely new cast, composed of excellent, determined working women. Only God and Andy Cohen know whether or not Bravo’s big swing to revive this franchise will pay off, but we can keep our gorilla fingers crossed and see what happens together.

Sunday night’s Season 14 premiere begins with a brief introduction to our newest character. In order, we have, Brynn Whitfield, lion-maned, flirting wild child, is said to be a marketing consultant, although we see skin or hair; Jenna Lyons, fashion superstar and former head of J.Crew, now false lash guru; Jessel Tank, who is a publicist. so true Pride in her work; Cy de Silva, content creator and five-foot-nothing firecracker; Uba Hasan, a great model and philanthropist; And Erin Litchie, a born and bred New Yorker, is slated to be the new Bethenny.

This may not be a new franchise, but since our cast has completely changed, the premiere starts off strong, which is typical of any modern. Housewives Introduction. Gone are the days where we would ease in and meet all these women one by one, watching the show stare into our eyes, well, Show. Now, we have to attend the hangout sessions and playdates that serve as our first glimpse of group dynamics. It is very difficult, but all new obstacles Housewives The fringes must be cleared to fit into the well.

However, it only takes 10 minutes to get the first controversies of the season. In the weeks leading up to filming, Erin hosted a group dinner for the entire cast at a restaurant in town. But Cy and Brynn say they can’t fib it at the last minute and go out to Erin’s dinner for their own ladies’ night out—a lie they kill themselves by posting a photo together on Instagram. Figuring her colleagues wouldn’t want to go to her chosen restaurant, Erin chose the uber-trendy but timeless New York staple Casa Cipriani instead.

There’s just one problem: We don’t know what restaurant Brian and Cy are so obsessed with, and Bravo isn’t telling us. Every time any of the housewives mentioned the restaurant’s name in the episode, the producers hit on the name and blurted out the women’s mouths so we couldn’t read their lips. For a crafty little crafty like myself, this is extremely frustrating. You can also burn my apartment building to the ground, this is the level Happiness The organizers are getting away from me by changing the name of this restaurant. I can understand not wanting the poor owners of this restaurant to get caught. Housewives Crossover, but if anything, I think this would be a great promotion. I’d love to try the place that sent Brian and Cyn into a treacherous panic!

Erin was having coffee with Ubah in Washington Square Park, and they were like, “I’m so tired.” “Jessel thought they went home, but they went to dinner!” A district in Brooklyn, Bryn, Jessel and Cy were breaking out on their own. “’I didn’t know how to say, ‘I’m not going to die. [bleep]” Brian said to the group. “Wait, isn’t it 2006?” Jessel responded, and Brynn immediately responded, “No, not 2005!” he replied. To clarify, Brynn concluded, “And I’m not a D-List model. Olives are great! ” Say and Brynn say in their confessional that the restaurant is good for teenagers or drunk relatives visiting from Florida.

Being the nosy amateur detective that I am, I did a thorough search of each new one RHONY Housewife Instagram account, combing them for proof. I’m hoping to find a location tag on Erin’s account that exposes this mysterious and sinister-looking restaurant, assuming I can cross-reference the posting date with Cy and Brynn’s photo and other cast members’ accounts.

Either Bravo producers are a little too good at their jobs these days, or the post with Brynn and Sai was a temporary Instagram story that never made it to the grid. Whatever the case, there’s no proof that it’s dinner on anyone’s feed. We can only guess from the battle that ensues in the rest of the episode. (For what it’s worth, my bet is on Hart’s—which owns Italian fusion food and was founded in the mid-2000s—because he can catch Brain saying a breathy “H” sound before one of his bloodbaths.)

This type of combat is fairly new RHONY It should be: extremely subtle—but undoubtedly calculated—movements of power. Arguing about the restaurant is a strong way to start this new era, as it gives us insight into each of the women’s perspectives. Erin and Uba agree that it’s not about where you eat, but about the company you’re with; Jessel, Brynn and Cy feel that where they spend their money is a reflection of themselves. And Jenna? Well, she goes with the flow, swinging between the two warring factions with a beautiful smile.

There’s more controversy about the cheese plate at the premiere. Not only is Erin hurt by the restaurant’s lie, but Sai is still sick of her comments at her parties. When I saw Erin said, he pointed to the cheese plate in Erin’s house and said, “Cheese? This is weird.” Meanwhile, Sai (and everyone at Erin’s place that night) kept her mouth shut and stuffed her face with cheese all night. Uba summed up her confession best, “I’m concerned, these girls are fighting about cheese. But I understand, we’re in New York. There are a lot of rats here.”

At the end of the episode, all the women are fixed. It’s a quick conclusion to two overblown feuds, but these disagreements effectively set the stage for the rest of the season. Now, we’ve got a firm handle on how each new housewife works, and we can set our expectations accordingly. The drama escalates quickly, which is exactly what we want from the series in this franchise. That drama is so simple that it seems irrelevant to the average viewer, but it may infuriate the right actors, which is exactly what we want. RHONY.

It is important to remember that early RHONY They saw the fighting members fighting about. Pinning their business on arthritis charities And Comparison with Madonna. The show didn’t get out of the gate with camera cheating scandals, drunken stunts, public drunkenness arrests and rehabs. It took years to build up those critical moments, finally donning the tragically beautiful tapestry of the middle-aged socialite. We don’t know if it’s the new age. RHONY We can achieve the same level for a minute, but together we record a step towards a new future. We are off to a great start so far. Breathing in the strange smells hanging in the New York air, it’s good to be back!
